Before: an aging wood deck

This Duvall backyard had an aging wood deck sitting on concrete blocks, with worn boards, loose steps and an old pergola. We replaced it with a new low-maintenance composite deck, wide wraparound steps and a custom wood pergola, creating a covered outdoor living space right outside the French doors.
The work included removal of the old deck, landscape fabric, new footings and beams, a full joist frame with blocking, a gray composite deck with a picture-frame border, two-level wraparound steps, a stained wood pergola with lattice panels and a clear roof, protection of the house during finishing, and fresh sod along the edges.
Pergolas are not one of our everyday services, but when a client needs one to complete their outdoor space, like on this project, our crew designs and builds it together with the deck.
Completed in Duvall, WA, this project adds to Acosta Landstone's portfolio in King County. We provide deck installation and paver patios across the Eastside, Snohomish, King and Pierce Counties.
