Before: an open, eroding slope
The yard ended at a steep wooded hillside with no clear edge, loose soil and debris sliding toward the garden.

This Sammamish backyard ended at a steep, wooded slope that kept washing soil and leaves into the lawn and garden. We built a long concrete block retaining wall to hold the hillside back, gain a flat, usable yard and create a clean edge along the property line.
The work included clearing and excavating the slope, filter fabric behind the wall, a compacted gravel base, the first course set to string line and level, drainage gravel and perforated drain pipe behind the blocks, stacked charcoal concrete blocks with a dark cap, block steps up to the upper level, warm LED lights built into the cap and steps, and a cedar frame fence with black welded wire panels mounted on top of the wall.
Completed in Sammamish, WA, this project adds to Acosta Landstone's portfolio in King County. We provide retaining wall installation and fence installation across the Eastside, Snohomish, King and Pierce Counties.
