Before: open and muddy
An overgrown slope at the back with no clear edge and a narrow dirt side yard that turned to mud along the house.

This Sammamish home needed privacy, structure and a clean way to move around the house. We built a new cedar privacy fence with a lattice top along both sides of the property, a wood and wire fence on top of a lit concrete block retaining wall at the back of the yard, and a herringbone paver walkway through the narrow side yard.
The fence work included posts set to string line, cedar boards with a lattice topper, post caps and an arched cedar gate at the side yard. At the back, the slope was held with a concrete block retaining wall with warm LED cap lights and block steps, topped with a cedar frame fence and black welded wire panels.
For the walkway, we excavated the muddy side yard, laid filter fabric and a compacted gravel base, then installed red and charcoal blend pavers in a herringbone pattern with a cutout around an existing tree, gravel borders along the house and fence, and a final sweep.
Completed in Sammamish, WA, this project adds to Acosta Landstone's portfolio in King County. We provide fence installation, paver walkways and patios and retaining walls across the Eastside, Snohomish, King and Pierce Counties.
