This Mill Creek home had an old, uneven brick patio in the backyard, weedy gravel and stepping stones along the sides of the house, a moss-covered block wall and a patchy front lawn. The homeowners wanted a backyard they could actually use and a clean way to walk from the front of the house to the back, so we rebuilt the outdoor space around a new paver patio and retaining wall.
We removed the old brick patio and gravel beds, excavated and compacted a new base, and installed a large gray blend backyard paver patio with a charcoal soldier border that wraps around the existing aggregate pad and a built-in drain. Along the fence line we built a concrete block retaining wall with smooth dark caps that holds the raised planting beds and doubles as extra seating, plus a curved capped planter wall around the existing evergreen.
To connect the whole property, we replaced the muddy gravel side yard with a paver walkway with a charcoal border that runs from the front of the house to the backyard patio. In the front, we finished the landscaping by removing the tired lawn, grading the soil and laying fresh new sod.
