This Bothell home had nothing around it but bare dirt, an uneven slope and an old block edge. We turned the entire exterior into one connected hardscape and outdoor living space: a large paver patio that wraps around the house, tiered concrete block retaining walls with built-in steps, a side yard paver walkway and warm LED outdoor lighting on every wall and step.
The work started with excavation, stump grinding and grading, then a compacted gravel base set to string lines. We built the block retaining walls with drain pipe, filter fabric and drain rock behind them, installed gray blend pavers with a charcoal soldier border, added a linear channel drain to move water away from the house and poured an exposed aggregate concrete walkway along the side.
The finish is what makes it feel high end: dark wall caps, lit block steps and cap lights that wash the walls with warm light, so the patio is just as usable and impressive at night as it is during the day.
Completed in Bothell, WA, this project adds to Acosta Landstone's portfolio in King & Snohomish Counties. We provide hardscape & landscape design, patio & paver installation, retaining walls and outdoor lighting across the Eastside, Snohomish, King and Pierce Counties.
